BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – A six-run rally in the ninth inning came up just short as the Indiana baseball program dropped the middle game of its series against Northwestern, 7-6, on Saturday (April 2) afternoon on Bart Kaufman Field.
Northwestern (10-12, 1-1 B1G) struck for three runs in the fourth inning, three in the seventh and one in the ninth to account for the Wildcats' scoring. Indiana (11-14, 1-1 B1G) mounted a furious rally in the ninth inning with six runs on three hits against three NU pitchers.
Freshman Josh Pyne moved his hitting streak to 15 games with a 2-for-3 day at the plate.
