Purdue’s Matt Painter offers thoughts on the Indiana men’s basketball job

Purdue’s Matt Painter has been leading the Boilermakers’ men’s basketball program for two decades now. In that time, he’s coached against five different full-time head coaches of rival Indiana.

With the Indiana job set to open this offseason after Mike Woodson steps away, that list will reach six.

Painter was asked about his thoughts on the Indiana job after Indiana’s 73-58 win over Purdue and had some insight to offer. He noted Indiana has had a lot of turnover at the position and should look at common denominators in the previous tenures.

He delivered a lengthy answer, noting that the program could use some positive energy.
