BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- It was there for the taking.
And then it wasn't.
Indiana could only wonder about what might have been in Sunday afternoon's women's basketball top-15 slugfest.
The 68-58 loss to No. 10 UCLA at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall ended the No. 12 Hoosiers' non-conference schedule. It kept them out of the top 10, but not out of Big Ten optimist.
You go 10-2 against this type of competition and there's plenty of reasons for optimism.
"I think they'll compete for a Big Ten championship," UCLA coach Cori Close said.
