Indiana University begins its 121st season of competition in men's basketball and opens the doors of Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall for the 50th season IU is coming off a 79-58 win over Providence in the first round of the Camping World Maui Invitational. IU is 12-8 all-time in the Maui Invitational. The Hoosiers have advanced to the semifinals for the first time since winning the event in 2002. The Texas game could be the first of 15 games against teams ranked in the AP Preseason Poll (Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan State, Texas, North Carolina, Florida State, Ohio State, Rutgers, Michigan).
