On Sunday night, Center Grove senior Trayce Jackson-Davis was named Mr. Basketball at the Indiana Sports Awards, which were held on the campus of Butler University.
The 6-foot-9 Jackson-Davis, who was also named a McDonald’s All-American and a Jordan Brand All-Star, was the runaway winner for the Mr. Basketball award.
According to The Indy Star, he was named 179 of the ballots cast by the state’s coaches and media. Runner-up Brandon Newman (Valparaiso) was named on 73 ballots.
As a senior, Jackson-Davis averaged 22 points, 9.4 rebounds, 2.8 blocks and 1.6 assists as Center Grove finished 21-9 and advanced to the Class 4A semi-state.
