It was draft time in Chicago this past week for Major League Soccer (MLS), and there were a few Indiana Hoosiers in attendance to hear their name’s called.
The Hoosiers, who had the second most players from a program drafted in the first two rounds with two, had one player selected in the first and the second round on Friday.
Sophomore Griffin Dorsey was the first Hoosier to go, when he was drafted sixth overall by Toronto FC.
The midfielder amassed eight goals with 11 assists in 44 games played for Indiana. After being named to the Second Team All-Big Ten team his freshman season, Dorsey took another step up being selected to the First Team All-Big Ten team this past year along with a United Soccer Coaches (USC) Second Team All-America selection.
