Another member of the high-powered IU lineup has been selected in the MLB Draft. Third baseman Cole Barr, a draft-eligible sophomore, was picked in the 37th round by the Seattle Mariners.
Barr became a three true outcomes type of player in his first season as a starter. He tied for first in the Big Ten in home runs with 17, but he also struck out 84 times. He also drew 36 walks and drove in 51 runs in the middle of the Hoosier lineup.
His main tool is his tantalizing power, but there should be concerns about his strikeout numbers.
