On Thursday 101.7 The Hammer reported that junior shortstop Justin Walker will transfer from IU to Purdue. A Crimson Quarry source confirmed this report on Friday morning.
In his two years as a Hoosier, Walker posted a .226 batting average, hit four home runs and drove in 40 runs while bouncing in and out of the lineup. His primary tool is his glove. He was one of the best Hoosiers defensively during his time in Bloomington.
Walker’s transfer seemingly solidifies Jeremy Houston’s place as IU’s shortstop next spring, as he and Walker have been the primary options at the position over the past few years.
