Bloomington, Indiana - Indiana University Vice President and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Fred Glass today approved a variety of ways in which IU Athletics would be paying tribute to George Taliaferro as a part of the upcoming Homecoming weekend. The legendary Hoosier football player, who was also a trailblazer for African-Americans at Indiana University, in professional football and the local community, passed away yesterday at the age of 91.
In recognition of the enormous impact Taliaferro had on IU Athletics and the Indiana University and Bloomington communities, all flags on the Bloomington campus have been lowered to half-staff through this weekend's Homecoming football game against Iowa.
