Say what you will, but the Hoosiers definitely weren’t afraid.
Behind some hot early outside shooting from Karlee McBride (17 points, four three-pointers), Indiana stood toe-to-toe with Notre Dame but ultimately fell to the Fighting Irish 87-70 in the second round of the Lexington Region.
Notre Dame keyed in on Tyra Buss and made life difficult for the standout sophomore (10 points on 3-16 shooting). But behind McBride’s early shooting Indiana was able to keep pace. Jenn Anderson picked up two quick fouls (and was in foul trouble most of the game), and without her it would have been easy for the Hoosiers to get destroyed on the glass and in the paint.
