Indiana ranks 9th nationally in attendance for 2015-2016 season

Indiana men’s basketball finished ninth nationally in attendance during the 2015-2016 season according to numbers released Wednesday by the NCAA.

The Hoosiers drew an average of 17,106 fans per game over 17 games at Assembly Hall for a total of 290,809. That number was third in the Big Ten behind Maryland, which averaged 17,863 fans over 17 home games and Wisconsin, which averaged 17,287 fans over 18 home dates.

Indiana averaged 16,288 fans per game during the 2014-2015 season, which ranked eighth nationally.

Assembly Hall’s capacity is 17,472.

Indiana finished fifth nationally in attendance for the 2012-2013 season with an average of 17,412 fans per game and sixth in 2013-2014 with an average attendance of 17,359.
