Indiana dropped to 1-1 in Big Ten play tonight, losing in Lincoln, 85-68.
The narrative, by the final whistle, was familiar enough. Indiana couldn’t buy a bucket and the Huskers couldn’t miss. The players were different and some of the stat lines stood out, but this is something we’ve seen before.
After a four game winning streak that hinted at signs of progress, the Hoosiers regressed to looking like a team undeserving of their preseason and early week spots in the AP Poll. There’s still plenty of season, but Indiana is going to have to figure out how to take one step forward without two steps back to turn it around in time for March.
