Former Indiana men’s basketball center Kel’el Ware is starting to turn heads in the NBA world after two Summer League games.
The Miami Heat selected Ware with the 15th overall pick in last month’s NBA Draft after he spent one season with Mike Woodson in Bloomington. Ware’s college career began at Oregon, but he opted to enter the transfer portal following a disappointing freshman season.
Ware played 24 minutes in the Heat’s opening matchup with the Golden State Warriors, finishing with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 5 blocks in a lopsided defeat. He then played 30 minutes against the Sacramento Kings on Sunday, showing off more of his offensive skillset.
