Indiana is Second-Most Valuable Men’s College Basketball Program According to The Wall Street Journal

BLOOMINGTON, Indiana - The Indiana University men's basketball program was touted as the second most valuable program in the country according to an article today released by the Wall Street Journal. The Hoosiers were ranked third in 2016 and eighth in 2015.

The study is an annual report produced by Ryan Brewer, an assistant professor of finance at Indiana University-Purdue University Columbus. IU is worth $243.8 million.

Brewer assesses what every college team would be worth on the open market if it could be bought and sold like a professional franchise. The study analyzes each program's revenues and expenses with cash-flow adjustments, risk assessments and growth projections.
