Indiana football early signing period: Three-star receiver David Ellis brings offensive versatility

Tom Allen and the Hoosiers added another offensive weapon with the commitment of three-star receiver David Ellis.

The Michigan wideout held offers from Central Michigan, Ball State and Toledo, among others. He’s listed as the No. 103 wide receiver in the country and No. 21 overall in the state of Michigan, per the 247Composite.

Although he’s listed as a wide receiver, Ellis is being brought in as an athlete the Hoosiers hope can be a weapon all over the field. It would not be a surprise to see him used in a similar role to Reese Taylor by making plays from the backfield or on the outside as a receiver.
