The Tampa-to-Bloomington pipeline under Tom Allen has just gotten stronger.
4-Star QB Mike Penix, who is a senior at Tampa Bay Tech high school, has just committed to Indiana. Penix chose the Hoosiers over Florida State and South Florida. He was previously a Tennessee commit, but de-committed recently after Jeremy Pruitt was named head coach on Rocky Top.
The recruiting victory is a significant one for the Hoosiers, as new FSU head coach Willie Taggart also has strong ties to the Tampa Bay area, and the Seminoles were expected to compete with IU for Penix. His commitment also assures Indiana of a very good quarterback in its 2018 class.
