MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The Indiana University baseball team finished the opening weekend of the 2021 season with a third-straight win, defeating the Minnesota Golden Gophers, 8-1, at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minn. on Sunday night.
With the victory, the Hoosiers improve to 3-1 on the season, while Minnesota falls to 1-3.
KEY MOMENTS
• In his first career start, RHP (1-0) was terrific, setting career-bests with 10 strikeouts in five innings pitched to earn the win. He allowed just one earned run on two hits.
• After a two-out double from INF , INF blasted a two-run home run to left-center field to give the Hoosiers a lead in the top of the first inning.
