Indiana easily handles Xavier, 14-3

The constant rain finally subsided in Bloomington and gave way to an all around impressive performance from the Indiana Hoosiers at Bart Kaufman Field. Indiana took advantage of a bevy of Xavier pitching struggles to secure a 14-3 victory over the Musketeers.

The Hoosiers drew first blood in the second. They managed two runs after sophomore Ryan Fineman’s single to center brought home Luke Miller and freshman Jeremy Houston’s liner up the middle scored Fineman.

The Musketeers gained back a run in the third as Chris Givin’s single brought home Rylen Bannon but senior Austin Cangelosi’s two-run homer that also brought in Logan Sowers in the fourth stunted any momentum Xavier might have gained, giving Indiana a 4-1 lead.
