It has been an interesting offseason for former Indiana basketball guard Yogi Ferrell despite not being a free agent.
The Sacramento Kings have made a couple of signings this offseason that put Ferrell’s spot on the team in jeopardy and it came down until Thursday for the Kings to make a decision on his contract.
Sacramento had until July 4 to either waive Ferrell or guarantee his $3.2 million salary for the 2019-20 season. The team opted to keep him and instead, waive second-year guard Frank Mason III.
Ferrell struggled to find a consistent role last season appearing in 71 games and averaging 5.
