Announced today per an Indiana athletics release, Cheaney is among six former players and three former head coaches who have been selected to the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2019
Cheaney had a decorated career during his time at Indiana, winning numerous awards ranging from Big Ten Player of the Year, a unanimous All-American Selection, and being named the Naismith and Wooden National Player of the Year as a senior.
As one of the only Hoosiers to make the NCAA Tournament in each of their four years, Cheaney made it farther in the tourament each year, from losing in the first round as a freshman, to making the Sweet Sixteen as a sophomore, and reaching the Final Four as a junior.
