In what has been an up-and-down year for the Chicago Cubs and former Indiana baseball slugger Kyle Schwarber, fans saw the good side of things this weekend. Not only did Schwarber add onto his home run total this year, but also broke an MLB record on top of it.
Though Statcast has been around for just five years, it has recorded some huge long balls, and Schwarber’s out did all of them. On Sunday, his grand slam in the second inning reached 473-feet, the longest in Statcast history.
