BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana University track and field opened the Big Ten Outdoor Championships in Bloomington Friday afternoon. The Hoosiers finished the day with the women's team in third place with a total of 22 points after four events and the men's team in sixth place with ten points after three events.
After just missing a medal last year Nycia Ford came to the Championships determined to take home a medal, which is exactly what she did. The junior crushed her personal record when she launched the hammer 64.19m (210' 7") on her final attempt of the afternoon, which brought home silver.
