Former IU guard Jalen Hood-Schifino agrees to two-way contract with Philadelphia

Former IU guard Jalen Hood-Schifino has agreed to join the Philadelphia 76ers on a two-way contract.

ESPN’s Shams Charania reported the news of the agreement between Hood-Schifino and Philadelphia on Friday evening.

A 2023 first-round NBA draft pick by Los Angeles, Hood-Schifino appeared in 23 games over two seasons for the Lakers. The Pittsburgh native averaged 1.7 points in 5.3 minutes.

He was traded to Utah earlier this month, but was waived by the Jazz. Last fall, the Lakers declined the third-year rookie option on Hood-Schifino.

The 2022-23 Big Ten freshman of the year for Indiana, Hood-Schifino averaged 13.
