After five tough seasons as Indiana’s head football coach, Kevin Wilson has agreed to a six year contract extension that will pay him over $15 million. Wilson will now be making about $2.5 million per year which is significantly more than the $1.3 million Wilson made annually from his previous contract. That original contact also had two years remaining, but is now replaced by this new one.
I don’t quite agree with Fred Glass’ decision. Although Wilson has made great strides in turning Indiana’s program around, I don’t think that he has earned a $2.5 million salary. Taking the team from a horrendous one win season in 2011 to a 6-7 record, and Indiana’s first bowl appearance since the Insight Bowl in 2007 isn’t exactly a killer resume.
