BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Three legendary Indiana swimming and diving coaches were named to the College Swimming Coaches Association of America's list of 100 Greatest Coaches, the CSCAA announced Tuesday (Dec. 7).
Hobie Billingsley, James "Doc" Counsilman and current IU swimming head coach Ray Looze each earned a selection. Per the CSCAA, the list seeks "to recognize the most successful and pioneering swimming and diving coaches" based on their intercollegiate success.
Now in his 20th season mentoring athletes at Indiana University, Looze is a 10-time Big Ten Coach of the Year and was named the CSCAA National Swimming Coach of the Year in 2018.
