BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana fifth-year senior running back Ricky Brookins is a nominee for the Wuerffel Trophy, presented by the Chick-fil-A Foundation®. The Wuerffel Trophy, known as "College Football's Premier Award for Community Service," is presented annually to the Football Bowl Subdivision player who best combines exemplary community service with athletic and academic achievement.
Brookins, who was also a candidate for the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team®, spearheaded a GoFundMe page for football manager Matt Stauder that has raised nearly $32,000. Stauder is in his senior year majoring in sport management and marketing.
