While it was IU basketball coach Archie Miller who stressed an “inside-out” recruiting strategy earlier this summer, Chris Lemonis and the Indiana baseball program seem to be taking that approach as well. Just days after Linton star Kip Fougerousse committed to the Hoosiers, Bloomington High School North’s Dylan Steele has followed suit.
The Class of 2019 recruit is a right-handed pitcher and outfielder for the Cougars baseball team. Steele was named to the Herald-Times all-area first-team following his sophomore season, in which he hit .408 with a .507 on-base percentage. On the mound, the dual-threat struck out a team-high 45 batters.
