IOWA CITY – It was a one-run game in the ninth inning with the bases loaded, but the Indiana baseball team could not scratch across the game-tying run in its 2-1 loss at Iowa on Saturday (May 21) evening at Duane Banks Field.
It was single runs in three different innings, as Iowa (33-17, 16-7 B1G) tallied one in the first and one in the fifth to take the 2-0 lead. Indiana (25-30, 10-14 B1G) got a run back in the sixth inning to cap the scoring.
The trio of senior Bradley Brehmer, redshirt-junior Ty Bothwell and redshirt-sophomore Reese Sharp struck out 13 batters and allowed just two runs – one earned – on three hits and five walks.
