BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – A Sunday (April 3) slugfest escaped the Indiana baseball program at Bart Kaufman Field in a 13-6 loss to Northwestern in the rubber game of the series.
Northwestern (11-12, 2-1 B1G) took an early lead with four runs in the second inning, before Indiana (11-15, 1-2 B1G) closed the gap with single runs in the second and third innings. The Wildcats put up seven runs between the fourth and seventh innings and capped their scoring with a two-run ninth inning. IU scored two in the sixth inning, one in the seventh and one in the ninth to account for their output.
