How it happened: The Hoosiers used a 21-0 run, which began at the 9:13 mark of the second half to pull away from the Gee-Gees, ranked No. 1 in the preseason Canadian Interuniversity Sport poll. Ottawa, which came in shooting close to 43 percent on 3-pointers through nine games, hit just 5-of-26 shots from distance in the loss.
Standout performance: In his first game in an IU uniform, freshman Thomas Bryant finished with 12 points, 11 rebounds and two blocks in 23 minutes of action. Bryant shot just 5-of-16 from the field, but was active on both ends of the floor.
