After a college career filled with success including multiple College Cup appearances and a MAC Hermann Trophy former Hoosier Andrew Gutman has another accomplishment. On Monday the defender, who’s currently on loan at Charlotte Independence of the United Soccer League from Celtic, was included in the United States’s 40-man provisional roster for this Summer’s CONCACAF Gold Cup.
This marks the first time that an active USL player has been called up to the United States Men’s National Team.
If Gutman earns a cap during the tournament, which starts on June 15, he would be the 13th Hoosier alumnus to receive the honor with the USMNT.
