Allen Wins the 3K on Day One of the Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Indiana University track and field open the Penn Relays on Thursday. The highlight of the day was junior winning the 3,000m.

The Louisville, Ky. native brought home the gold after she ran an outdoor personal best time of 9:16.20, which is the second fastest time in school history. Colette Goudreau set the record of 8:59.74 at the 1987 NCAA Championships. Allen is the first Hoosier to ever win the 3,000m at the Penn Relays.

Junior , freshman , senior and redshirt junior ran the second fastest distance medley relay time in school history when the crossed the finish line in 11:13.
