WATERLOO, Iowa – The Illinois State women's tennis finished the final day of the MVC Individual Championship with multiple Redbirds taking first, second and third place in their respective brackets on Sunday.
Junior Ivon Mihaleva took the championship in Flight 6, defeating Missouri State's Alyson Piskulic by a score of 7-5, 6-2.
"I am very happy to have won the number six singles flight today," said Mihaleva. "The first set was close and being able to win that gave me confidence for the rest of the match. Elena Jankulovska and I came up short in doubles losing in the deciding tiebreak, but we learned a lot from the match, and it will definitely be a positive thing for us in the future.
