Women’s Golf Tied for Fifth in Balanced Johnie Imes Invitational

COLUMBIA, Mo. – In a rain-shortened opening day of the Johnie Imes Invitational, the Illinois State women's golf team was led by Jinyoung Yun, who shot a two-over 74, and the Redbirds are tied for fifth place after the first day of the 36-hole tournament.

The round, which started at 8 a.m. and then paused after a handful of shots, resumed at noon. Because of the delay, the tournament was shrunk from a 54-hole event to just 36 holes – 18 on each of the tournament's two days.

Florida Gulf Coast holds the 18-hole lead with a one-under 287, with Bradley (295), Missouri (298), and Austin Peay (298) all resting ahead of the Redbird's 300 halfway through the tournament.
