SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Freshmen Maria Perakis and Kathryn McNease paced Bradley Women's Golf on the opening day of the Payne Stewart Memorial with the Braves tied with former Missouri Valley Conference rival Wichita State for eighth in the 16-team field after Monday's opening two rounds.
After tying for ninth to help lead the Braves at the season-opening Redbird Invitational last week, Perakis was Bradley's top performer on the first day at the Payne Stewart Memorial. She fired matching four-over 75's Monday at the par-71 Twin Oaks Country Club to finish the day tied for 17th at eight-over 150 and is four strokes out of the top 10.
