NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State women's basketball team (4-10, 1-2 MVC) looks to start out Missouri Valley Conference play 2-2 for the first time in four seasons when it returns to Doug Collins Court at Redbird Arena Friday to start a mini two-game league homestand this weekend, starting with first-place Northern Iowa (11-4, 4-0 MVC), with tipoff slated for 7 p.m.

Illinois State and Northern Iowa are meeting for the 72nd time in series history, dating back to Dec. 3, 1976, with the Redbirds holding a 40-31 advantage overall and a 23-12 lead at home.
