PEORIA — Bradley sophomore forward Ja’Shon Henry knows full well how important Elijah Childs is to the Braves basketball team.
Childs, the Braves’ top scorer (14.5 ppg) and rebounder (9.4 rpg) suffered a hand injury in Sunday’s victory over Georgia Southern and is expected to be sidelined from 3-6 weeks. Henry will replace him in the starting lineup Saturday at Miami (Ohio).
“Eli’s a vocal leader on the court, always talking,” Henry said. “He’s such an active, physical guy. So we take a little hit. But we play against him every day. Eli’s making us way better, and we don’t even see it.
