MACOMB, IL – Bradley junior forward Gerit Wintermeyer calmly collected a Jha'Lon Johnson service with two defenders around him and found the back of the net for the game-winning goal with just 23 seconds remaining in regulation, lifting the visiting Braves (6-6-4) to a 2-1 victory at Western Illinois (4-12-1) Monday afternoon at Mackenzie Alumni Field.
The win halted WIU's five-game unbeaten streak (4-0-1) and pushed the Braves to 10-3-2 all-time on the road against the Leathernecks.
Bradley's active career scoring leader, as well as the 2019 leader, Wintermeyer netted his fifth goal of the year and his third game-winner.
