PEORIA — The Barry Hinson Comedy Tour rolled into town Tuesday, convulsed the luncheon crowd at Renaissance Coliseum, then got down to business that’s not so funny.
Times are tough for the Southern Illinois Salukis basketball team that Hinson coaches. Not yet dire, but difficult. Since starting Missouri Valley Conference play with a surprising win at perennial league power Northern Iowa, the Salukis have dropped three of four, the latest being the 68-62 loss Bradley hung on them Tuesday night at Carver Arena.
Losing always hurts. When your competitive juice boils the way Hinson’s does, the losses feel like you’re standing in a shower of razor blades.
