PEORIA - The last time Evansville saw Bradley, the Braves were a mess.
“They’ve gotten a lot better,” Evansville coach Marty Simmons said Tuesday night, after his Aces used their two all-conference stars and considerable edge in experience to score a 67-55 victory at Carver Arena. After cruising to a 32-point win six weeks ago in Evansville, the Aces had to fight for this one.
“I don’t think they expected us to be that physical,” Bradley guard Dwayne Lautier-Ogunleye said.
Indeed, the Aces and their coaches spent much of the first half griping about Bradley’s alleged fouling.
