SEATTLE, Wash. – Junior George Watson challenged the school record in the men's 5,000 meters and the duo of sophomore Sophia McDonnell and junior Tyler Schwartz turned in strong efforts in the women's 5,000 meters to highlight day one action at the UW Invitational for Bradley Track & Field Friday.
Watson finished fourth in the men's 5,000 meters Friday night in a time of 14:13.36, nearly topping the school record of 14:11.14 held by Chase Coffey (2016). Watson's time ranks second in Bradley history and beat the top performance in the Missouri Valley Conference entering the weekend by over 45 seconds.
