NORMAL — Through all the turmoil of the last couple weeks, Howard Fleming Jr. remained confident there were still better days ahead for Illinois State's basketball team.
"All the things we've been practicing for the last couple weeks finally are starting to click," said the Redbirds' sophomore guard. "We all knew eventually we were going to click. We didn't know when. It was keep our head down and keep working and eventually the dues are going to be paid off."
Antonio Reeves scored 28 points and Fleming added a career-high 20 as ISU broke a five-game losing streak by routing Indiana State, 86-66, in the Missouri Valley Conference regular-season finale before a Redbird Arena crowd of 3,665.
