Valparaiso, Ind. – The Bradley basketball team cut a 17-point lead down to five but Valparaiso regrouped in time to earn a 61-50 Missouri Valley Conference victory on Tuesday night. The Braves are now 8-8 on the season, while the Crusaders improve to 10-6.
Three Braves scored in double figures, led by 14 from junior guard Darrell Brown. Seniors Luuk van Bree and Dwayne Lautier-Ogunleye also chipped in 12 and 11 points, respectively, with Lautier-Ogunleye also adding a game-best nine boards.
The teams both started strong in the opening half before a Valparaiso run gave the host a lead it would not relinquish.
