NORMAL — Illinois State pulled off an improbable overtime victory last year at Ole Miss with a five-guard lineup on the court at the end.
The Rebels made sure there was no chance of anything crazy like that happening Saturday night.
Guard Breein Tyree scored a game-high 22 points as Ole Miss turned back ISU, 81-74, before a Redbird Arena crowd of 6,598.
The Redbirds dropped to 6-5 with their third straight loss. ISU has final examinations this week before returning to face Cleveland State next Sunday at Redbird Arena.
Milik Yarbrough paced ISU with 19 points and Josh Jefferson added 14.
