KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Illinois State men's tennis team collected five wins at the WMU-Vredevelt Invitational Friday, Sept. 22, in Kalamazoo, Mich.
Jorge Adair Bartra Quispe and Cameron Petersen earned spots in the championship of their respective flights.
"We had some good hard fought wins today" assistant coach Michal Kianicka said. "We are heading the right direction and are looking to finish on a high note tomorrow with Cameron and Jorge playing for a championship."
Quispe collected two singles victories on the day, defeating Chicago's Tyler Raclin, 6-7 (0-8), 6-4, 10-7 and Valparaiso's Brian Pecyna, 7-5, 7-6, (3-0).
