NORMAL — Illinois State head basketball coach Dan Muller announced Tuesday that senior point guard Ricky Torres has received a waiver from the NCAA and will be eligible to play for the Redbirds in the 2019-20 season.
Torres transferred from Wichita State to ISU last month. At the time, Muller said Torres would seek a waiver so he wouldn't have to sit out a season per NCAA rules.
The 6-foot-3, 190-pound Torres played one season for the Shockers after being a junior college All-American at Missouri State-West Plains.
Torres started 10 games with Wichita State and averaged 2.
