Tinsley ready to step up as Redbirds head to Valpo on Sunday

VALPARAISO, Ind. — Only one Illinois State basketball player has seen action in all 25 games this season. Many would be surprised to hear that's William Tinsley, whose 24.5-minute average ranks fifth on the team.

And now Tinsley and others might be called upon to do more for the Redbirds the rest of this season.

The 6-foot-6 Ridgeview High School graduate tries to build off his season-high 14-point effort against Southern Illinois when ISU seeks its fifth straight win at 3 p.m. Sunday against Valparaiso in a Missouri Valley Conference game at the Athletics-Recreation Center.

ISU forward Phil Fayne went down with an ankle injury late against SIU.
