NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State softball team will make its third attempt at a home opener this weekend, after being shut out twice by Mother Nature in games at Marian Kneer Stadium, when UNI comes to town to kick-start an eight-game home stand.
First pitch of Saturday's doubleheader between the Redbirds and the Panthers is slated for 12 p.m., with the series finale beginning at 11 a.m. on Sunday.

Illinois State holds a commanding 73-27-1 series advantage over UNI, winning two of the last three outings against the Panthers.
