Takeaways from Illinois State football's Spring Showcase

NORMAL — On certain playgrounds, the position is called "all-time quarterback."

That's about how long it's been since Beckham Pellant did what he did this spring at Hancock Stadium.

As Illinois State's only healthy quarterback for the entirety of spring drills, Pellant served double duty as quarterback for both the Red and White in the Spring Showcase on Saturday.

"Not since recess in elementary school. It's been a while," Pellant said of his busy afternoon. "I'm a little bit (tired). I'm still trying to catch my breath."

Pellant completed 33 of 47 passes for 258 yards without an interception as the Red prevailed 10-0 in the annual culmination of spring practice.
