NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State swimming and diving team was honored among the country's best academic programs, as the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) included the Redbirds on its Scholar All-America list for the Fall 2019 semester.
Illinois State posted a team record cumulative team grade point average (GPA) of 3.62 during the fall semester – the 13th-best among NCAA Division I women's swimming and diving programs – while 15 student-athletes recorded perfect 4.0 GPAs.
"The team had a goal in place to beat their previous GPA record and they achieved that this fall," head coach Caitlin Hamilton expressed.
